Your medical team wants to know how active you are. We ask these questions because they matter to your health. As a matter of fact, physical activity is now considered a "vital sign."

  • How many days in the past week did you do some physical activity at a moderate to strenuous level (like a brisk walk)?

  • About how many minutes per day?

The good news is you only need 30 minutes/day (60 minute for children) for improved health. This activity should make you breathe a bit harder, sweat a little and cause an increase in your heart rate. If you are not sure if exercise is safe for you, discuss with your doctor.
